Professional Background
After completing my studies, I began my professional career as an ESG consultant at KPMG. Our team supported banks in adapting traditional risk models to incorporate emerging climate and environmental risks.
As is often the case in consulting, there was usually a lot of work to do and not much time. This taught me to stay calm under pressure and to manage expectations carefully — for example, explaining to a bank manager that an important presentation required more time, clarifying the reasons for delays, and ensuring that the client still felt well supported.
During this period, I also developed strong practical skills in Excel and PowerPoint — tools that have continued to be valuable since then.
Over time, I felt a growing desire to see the impact of my work more directly. I therefore transitioned into a project development role in the renewable energy sector at Verbund.
Here I worked on large-scale solar projects and particularly valued the variety of tasks involved: coordinating multidisciplinary teams, following regulatory developments, and engaging regularly with stakeholders. While I had already focused on organization and structure in earlier roles, working as a project developer allowed me to improve these skills significantly.
I was also able to shift my mindset from a slightly perfectionistic approach — trying to finish everything and therefore thinking less about what should be completed first — to accepting that there is always an abundance of work, and that the truly important skill is to prioritize effectively.
Beyond my formal professional roles, I have repeatedly taken on project responsibility in my free time. Over the past four years, I have founded and grown a beach volleyball community from a small group of around 20 people into a network of more than 1,000 participants. I organized weekly beach volleyball games and social events, managed payments and communication, and eventually developed the initiative into a small side business together with two community members.
The experience has been rewarding in many ways and has led to wonderful friendships. As a valuable side effect, I also gained hands-on experience applying the principles of entrepreneurship and business administration.
The Next Chapter: Zurich
Originally from Munich, I have always felt a strong connection to the Alpine region. While my years in Berlin have been a wonderful experience, I increasingly feel drawn back toward the mountains and closer to nature. Through visits to Switzerland and close friends living in Zurich, I have come to appreciate the region greatly and would like to begin my next professional chapter there.
Having spent five childhood years in New Zealand and having traveled extensively across different continents, I am quite comfortable adapting to new environments and cultures.
I am currently taking a short break, traveling through Latin America and converting my van into a camper van. This gives me flexibility regarding the start date for my next role, ideally between 01.06.2026 and 01.07.2026. I will return from my travels on 19.03.2026 and will be available for in-person interviews from that time onward.
If you feel my background could be a good fit for your team, I would be very happy to hear from you.
